Initial ideas

Out of the three ideas of T shits I have selected the 2nd idea has it looks more appealing to the eye. I find it appealing because the picture stands out well on a white background which the colour of the T shirt will be.

Kaiju Chess


What chess piece I will be developing on
















The pawn is the foot soldier of the game who mainly get's killed off and is in a large amount in a game of chess this could be shown in Kaiju form by making it a swarm strategy looking. as for humans you could be giant mech based as it would convey a futuristic setting and in the context of a pawn it could be the smaller mechs or the most well armoured.


What could the pawn be shown as in Kaiju form

  •  No super powers more brute strength or impaling spikes
  • look a lot like Godzilla or a tyranid carnifex
  • Look like they work in numbers
  • Large building sized
  • Spiky
  • On human side it com






































How pawns could be depicted in human form.

  • Mech based
  • Looks like it uses ranged weapons
  • Uses large guns
  • Make it look like it can take a large amount of damage

 



















































Kaiju Draft
My original idea for a pawn chess piece was to create a Kaiju a lot like a Zerg or tyranid as I felt that this fell into the appearance of a Kaiju.















Human Mech draft
My original idea for a human pawn chess piece was to create a mech as in most kaiju themed games or movies includes humans in mechs which carry big guns.

Kaiju Battle Tutorial poster

1: Firstly open the image editing software you will be using in my case Adobe Photoshop. Then go to file and select new, the following should appear select international paper in format and then set the background contents to transparent, then press Ok.
















2:Next go to Image and then image rotation and press 90 CW.
3:Then place the picture named background in Photoshop and then hold shift and pull it so it fills the transparent background.
























4:Now go to file and open and then select dino 1.
5:Now we are going to remove the white background for the dinosaur so that he will be able to attend the following poster. Firstly double click on the dinosaur layer to unlock the layer and then press Ok.
6:Now click on the magic wand tool, click on the white background and press delete.
7:Pull the dino onto the background and resize it.

8:Next we are going to create a shadow for the dino. Next right click on the dino layer and duplicate it. Then you need to double click on the dino layer and click on color overlay and set it to black.


9:Next press ctrl + t and then press right mouse over the image and click on distort. Then move the dinosaur copy till it looks like a shadow. Then after that use opacity located over the layer to make the shadow look more realistic.
 10:Next create a new layer and use the paintbrush and make the mode for it darken and set the opacity to a percentage of your choosing. Then use the eraser tool to crop the un-need light.
11:Next Open Dino 2 and follow the instruction to remove the white background and placing on the new picture tab.
12:Next click the eyes located next to the layers for the Dino’s.
This will remove them from the Poster for now so it’s easier to add a mask for the bunkers behind them.

13:Next use the polygonal lasso tool to add a layer for the bunkers and then place the dino 2 layer behind the bunker layer.
14:Next we need to create text go to file and create a new Photoshop tab by following the instructions shown at the begging of the tutorial.
Fill the background with black and use the text tool, set the foreground color to white and write “Dino Storm”

 15: Next select wind by going to filters, stylize and then wind.
16: Then you need to click on wind again and then go to image and image rotation and rotate it by 90 CW.
Then repeat the wind process twice again and rotate 90 CW again.
Continue to do this till it becomes landscape again.
 17:Next go to filter, distort and then ripple and press ok.
18: Next go to mode and set the mode to grey scale, a menu should appear asking you if you want to merge the layer click do not merge and the click discard when it appears.

19:Now go back to modes and select indexed color.
  20: Go back to modes and select color table.
21:Then go to the table drop down and select black body.

22:Next go back to modes and select RGB color.
23:Next remove black background using the magic wand tool where needed.
Then place text in into the poster. 
24:Congratulations you have complete the tutorial.

Hardware
Random access memory: In digital graphics Ram is used for holding volatile data produced from the image editing software.
Some image editing software such a Photoshop require a large amount of RAM as it produces a large amount of volatile data that needs a large amount RAM to store it. This means that you need a large amount of RAM for the computer to be able to work quickly while working with the software.
Processor: For digital graphics the processor/CPU is used for processing the data that is produced from the image editing software.
The higher data processing size of the processor the faster the image editing software works and render the image effects. However this means you need a powerful processor in order to get a faster performance with the image editing software.
Hard drive: For digital graphics, hard drives are used for storing the pictures and photo editing software files stored on the machine.
However depending on the type of hard drive and the maximum capacity of memory it can store can be a problem. You can use a solid state drive to get a faster opening speed for the files used for the digital graphics however they can cost quite a lot. Depending on the memory size of the hard drive can depend on the amount of high quality image formats that can stored on the machine e.g. RAW files.  
 
Mouse: In digital graphics the mouse is the most common tool used in digital graphics, as it allows easy cursor movement from any direction in 2D perspective and is easy for using the user interface as the mouse is more precise and you can actually see the cursor as you move the mouse.

However the mouse can be limiting when compared to a graphics tablet which is great when it comes to drawing curves or precise detail, however with a mouse any kind of wrong movement  made with the mouse can cause a large amount of trail error when it comes to creating detailed digital art. 

Graphics Tablet: Most commonly used by professional graphics designers, the graphics tablet acts as a drawing pad that then projects the user’s pen movement into brush interaction and movement on the image editing software. It is good for doing any kind of precise drawing as the user is drawing the image as if it’s almost on paper.

However the graphics tablet is limited to its awkward interaction with the user interfaces because you have to press the pen onto the tablet to see the cursor move but that also can act as a left click on a mouse, unlike the mouse which can move the cursor without doing any kind of other interactions.
Output Mediums
Monitor: In digital graphics monitors are the most important item which is used in digital graphics as they are used to project a visual for the user to see and then interact with.
However unlike a graphic tablet screen you cannot draw on a regular monitor screen using touch screen unless you pay money for a touch screen monitor. 
Printer: Commonly used in digital print based graphics the printer uses ink to print digital graphics onto paper.
However if you want to print very large pieces of work in high quality requires a bigger and better printer with a capability to print large pieces of paper. Printers also cost a lot of money to maintain a constant amount of ink for printing.
Software
Raster

Photoshop: Is good for manipulating colours and supporting many formats and is commonly used in digital graphics. Photoshop has tools such as selection tools which are helpful for when you’re using the layer tool which are both easier to use, when compared to the same tool for illustrator because selecting and then making a layer takes a lot longer to do when compared to Photoshop.

However Photoshop has a learning curve which requires a large amount of use of the software or previous use of other photo manipulation software. It also is limited by the quality of the hardware in the computer for example you need 1GB of RAM to run, 2GHZ of processing power and a large hard drive memory to store high quality images.
Bitmap
Microsoft Paint: Is a bitmap, low quality image producing software that comes free on most Microsoft Operating systems. The pro’s to MS paint is that it’s free and easy to use.
However it contains barely any tools for image manipulations, It exports most files in low quality and is strictly and bitmap software.

Vector
Illustrator: Is vector based digital graphics creation and editing software. The pros to illustrator are that it can create quite attractive pieces of digital graphics as long as you have an understanding of the software. Also illustrator has useful tools such as the shape tools which allow for easy creation of shapes and easy layering and editing for them, while Photoshop has not as good shape tools because you have to rasterize the shapes in order to make it look better, which can make the shapes lose their quality if enlarged.

However a lot like Photoshop it requires large amounts of time to learn or alternatively a knowledge of other vector based software in order to get a grip of using it professionally.
